1/2 oz. American Platinum Eagle 2017 Ultra-Cameo Proof 10th Anniversary PF70

This proof coin features a cameo image floating on a mirror–like background. The obverse, designed and engraved by United States Mint Sculptor–Engraver John Mercanti, features Lady Liberty, symbolizing vigilance and faithfulness to duty. The coins are struck at the United States Mint at West Point and bear the “W” mint mark.

The reverse, designed by Thomas Cleveland and engraved by Phebe Hemphill, depicts a bald eagle with its wings spread wide to represent freedom with a shield at the ready to enforce the laws that guarantee those freedoms.
